It is truly a privilege to welcome you back for the 2016-2017 school year! We look forward to meeting first time parents as well as reconnecting with our returning parents at each school and at various events throughout the year. Our goal is to continue to develop strong partnerships with families as we create optimal and joyful learning experiences for your children.
This summer we have been working diligently to complete many projects in preparation for the new school year. The RHS Athletic Complex has received a facelift! The new field turf has been installed and the track is currently being resurfaced. We are excited that our students will soon be utilizing these areas for practice and competition.
In order to strengthen the ways in which we communicate important information, we have added some new online features to help keep you in the loop. As you may remember, a few years ago the district transitioned to SchoolMessenger, a system that interacts with Genesis (our student information system) to communicate information to parents by phone. Last year we added a texting feature which enabled us to provide up to date information about bus delays or changes to the school schedule by text message. This year the district and school websites are undergoing a makeover. We intend to “go live” on or about September 1st so be on the lookout for a cleaner more user friendly feel when accessing our sites!
We are very pleased to access a wide variety of features offered by Versatrans, our new transportation database, which also links to Genesis. This connection will allow us to email your child’s 2016-2017 bus pass directly to you. They will be emailed to you the week of August 29th, 2016. Once received, we ask that you print the bus pass for your child to carry.
This year we are charging an additional ten cents per lunch at Sharon Elementary and Pond Road Middle Schools. This is the first increase in two years. The new lunch prices are as follows: Sharon School, $2.90; Pond $3.05; and as always, RHS will offer food options a la carte.
Please save the date for the “Make Someone’s Day Today” dedication ceremony on Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 AM. At this time we will join with township officials and community members to dedicate the Robbinsville High School Athletic Stadium to Dr. Steven Mayer and to honor his legacy in Robbinsville.
Again, we are excited for the year to come and the new knowledge, skills, and dispositions that students will learn, the new friends they will make, and the milestones they will reach. On behalf of the Board of Education, the administrative team and staff members of Robbinsville Schools, we are honored to serve your children. If you have any additional questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We know we will have a productive and happy school year!
