Preschool Transportation

Dear Parent/Guardian,

RE: Transportation To/From Preschool Program

Please take a moment to read the following information pertaining to your child’s transportation to and from school. At any time please feel free to contact the Transportation Department with any questions or concerns regarding your child’s transportation and our expectations.

Transportation Safety Equipment:

As Parents you have the right to choose how your pre-school child is transported. Since, it is not Federal or State Mandated to use a safety restraint system; you need to give prior consent which will be documented on your child’s IEP without this consent your child will be transported using a lap belt only, please fill out the Transportation Equipment Form.

  • The following is a brief description of your options:

    • Lap Belt - standard lap belt

    • Safety 5-Point Restraint System which meets the FMVSS 213 guidelines, depending on the school vehicle there are two types of safety restraint systems used(information on both seats attached) Safe Guard Star Seat or Built-In Safety Seat

    • The Safe Guard Star Seat is only used for pre-school aged children. We will transition your child from the Star Seat to a lap belt prior to him/her beginning Kindergarten.

      Daycare Transportation:

The Robbinsville School District will provide transportation for your Pre-school aged child to/from the following daycare centers to our AM or PM Pre-school program:

  • Elements Montessori Academy (Route 130)

  • Malvern School (Route 33)

  • Robbinsville Montessori (Washington Blvd.)

  • KinderCare (Route 33)

  • Kiddie Academy (Route 130)

If any of the following circumstances occur you must arrange to drop off or pick up your child from the Robbinsville Pre-School Program or meet the bus at the designated daycare center:

  • If your child attends the daycare facility less than five (5) days per week.

  • If the daycare facility is closed and the Robbinsville Pre School program is open.

    Parent Responsibilities:

  • Please be ready and waiting for the bus at least ten (10) minutes prior to the time listed on the bus pass.

  • An adult must bring your child to the bus door at pick up and an adult must meet your child at the bus door at drop off.

  • If your child will not require bus transportation to school please contact the Transportation Department, it is against policy to contact the Driver and/or Aide directly.

  • Please do not put your child on the bus with any food or drink; he/she must finish before getting onto the bus.

  • Your child should not carry anything in his/her hands; anything sent into school shall be placed in your child’s backpack.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in regards to your child’s transportation.

    Sincerely,

    Jen Freeman
