K-4 Computer/STEAM Teacher & Media Specialist, Sharon Elementary School
18th year

What teacher had the biggest influence on you as a student & why?: My 1st grade teacher Miss Kelinbauer at Cedar Grove Elementaty School in Toms River.  She sparked my interest in dinosaurs and embodied every characteristic that a 1st grade teacher should have.

Dr. Yitzhak Sharon, Holocaust professor from Stockton University, because he made me sit through his first class before making the decision to drop it.  And even though I didn't need this class, I decided not to drop it because he was such an amazing, charismatic professor and kind man. This is where my passion for WWII and the Holocaust began.

Three for dinner: My Aunt Joyce, who died of brain cancer, so I can tell her about the grandchildren she never got a chance to meet, and my grandparents, so I can tell them about their great-grandchildren that they never met. And if relatives don't count...King Henry VIII, Slash & Billy Joel!

Proudest moment on the job: Too many to mention.

Favorite hidden talent: I'm pretty good at DIY (do-it-yourself) and home improvement projects and I have a nice collection of power tools.  I also have great aim with a rifle and clay pigeons.

Fondest memory on the job: When half the school sang “Happy Birthday” to me at the holiday sing-along.

Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” - Dr. Seuss.
